9/15/11: As We Wait For His Return
Through November of 2006, Terrell Owens had done 23 really, really, really baaaaad things. Like, seriously, this is some bad stuff.

If you can't come up with a single significant thing to justify your portrayal, your next option is "listing." Quantity over quality. Because someday, if you keep adding up all of these petty, insignificant, and at times, even fictional "nuisances," you can convince the public the guy's as bad or worse than a murderer [...]

5/4/11: Sources: Doubt Bubbling Between TerrellOwensDefense, Werder Article
It was the article that turned the Cowboys' season upside down, at least in terms of media coverage. It's the article that has been taken as gospel by the numerous fans who believe Owens was a problem and did everything alleged by his critics in Dallas. It's truly all they have. Some who talk about these things they think Owens said/did in Dallas don't even realize the simple fact that it all starts and ends with this one article. But it's all right here.

And if they were able to look at it critically, they wouldn't be so quick to believe a word of it. In fact, I don't see how anyone could look at this article as "admissible" in the chain of evidence against Owens. I've decided it's time I break this article down and expose it for what it is, even if it comes years too late.

2/21/11: Starting to see the fruits of my labor
ProFootballTalk's Michael David Smith (an idiot) wrote an article recapping Owens's recent sitdown on NFL Network...adding his own "commentary," of course.

I scrolled down to the comments. To my pleasant surprise, about half the people commenting called him on his bullshit. One person brought up MDS's editorializing. One person brought up MDS's BS claim that there have been "indications" Carson Palmer wants out of Cincinnati because of Owens (even though Terrell Owens is not coming back to the Bengals next year...little details like this seem to create these little logical incongruities).

This just reaffirms what I already suspected; if you beat enough people over the head with something, eventually...slowly, but surely...they learn. *pats self on back*

The problem is, the sports media has been bashing people's heads far longer than I have. I've still got a ways to go to reach all of the automated clone lemmings out there...but just as I brought the ineptitude of linebacker Derek Smith to the attention of the internet 49ers fan base, to the point where he was a running joke on most 49er forums, I soon will make the public keenly aware of the presence of absurd myths surrounding Terrell Owens.

As for my take on Owens's's rather simple. Contrary to what people might realize... Terrell Owens is not a member of the Cincinnati Bengals. He is a free agent. A free agent who would rather retire than play for that organization again. And he "burned his bridges" by referring to a now-fired former offensive coordinator and saying Mike Brown is a little "different."

Warren Sapp and others can sit up there and talk badly about the Bengals, but Terrell Owens can't. Sapp is as much as a member of the Bengals as Owens...but he's not Terrell Owens.

By the way...just as a little refresher since many seem to have forgotten...Owens put blame on himself multiple times throughout the season. Show me another athlete who pointed a finger at himself more than Owens this year. Just try to find one. Bet you can't do it.

So here's how it went: He blamed himself multiple times in the first 10 weeks or so. Then he blamed everyone. And now that he's off the organization, he reiterated that it "starts with the top" and finally felt free to assign some of the blame to the offensive coaching, since the offensive coordinator is now an ex-Bengal...just like Owens.

This sounds awfully familiar. Don't listen to me, though, I'm just crazy. I'd have you believing that players who leave teams and are asked about why it didn't work assign blame to others in the organization all the time.
